Tokyo, the capital of Japan since 1868, is one of the most populated cities in the world. Tokyo Metropolis,
with an area of about 2180 sq km and a population of 11,816,703, consists of 23 special wards, 26 cities,
seven towns, and eight villages.
Tokyo is situated at the east coast of Honshu Island, the largest island among Japanese islands chain.
This Japan's capital city is located at almost the same latitude as Athens or Los Angeles. The city
enjoys a relatively mild winter with low humidity and occasional snow, in contrast to the high temperatures
and humidity in the summer.
Today Tokyo is the financial, trading, industrial, communications, transportation, educational, and cultural
