Singapore is one of the world's most prosperous countries, and a clean and safe city with gentle
manners, conveniences, and efficiency. It is one of the favorite Asian travel
destinations.
This "Garden City" offers visitors with beautiful parks, gardens, historical museums and glittering
temples, and provides tourists excellent shopping and dining opportunities, and convenient
public transportation system.
Singapore Botanic Gardens spread over 74 acres with a large lake, masses of shrubs and flowers,
and many tree species. The 7.4 acres Singapore Orchid Garden, inside the Botanic Gardens, has more
than 3,000 orchids.
National Museum and Art Gallery is a historical museum housed in a colonial building build in 1887.
This Museum displays hundreds of arts collections and historical documents from America and Southeast
Asia.
Parliament House, designed in 1827, is considered the oldest government building in Singapore.
Raffles Hotel was home of British sea captain. In 1887 the Armenian Sarkies brothers took over and
transformed it into one of the Asia's grandest hotels. St. Andrew's Cathedral, Singapore Art Museum,
Victoria Memorial Hall, Asian Civilizations Museum are some of the major tourist
attractions.
Singapore Zoological Gardens spread over 69 acres land on a 220-acre forested area. This Asian best zoo
has over 2,000 animals from more than 160 species, including many rare and endangered
species.
Year-round festivals also offer tourists opportunity to enjoy Southeast Asian special arts and cultural
events.
