Argentina is located in Southern South America, bordering the South Atlantic Ocean, between Chile and Uruguay. With total land area about 2,736,690 square kilometers, Argentina is second-largest country in South America (after Brazil). It is slightly less than three-tenths the size of the United States.

Based on July 2004 estimate, Argentina has 39,144,753 population, including white (mostly Spanish and Italian) 97%, mestizo, Amerindian, or other nonwhite groups 3%. Spanish is the official language. But English, Italian, German and French are widely spoken in Argentina.

Argentina benefits from rich natural resources, a highly literate population, an export-oriented agricultural sector, and a diversified industrial base. Internet access is available in Argentina. It uses peso as its currency. Argentine pesos per US dollar exchange rate is about 2.9003 in 2003.

Buenos Aires, the capital of Republica Argentina, is the political, economic, and cultural center of the country. As a beautiful and romantic city with more European style than South American, Buenos Aires will impress visitors by its tree-lined wide boulevards and parks, churches and museums, European cafes and restaurants, fashion boutiques, theaters and tango halls.
