World's second largest nation

Canada is located in the Northern North America, bordering the North Atlantic Ocean and North Pacific Ocean, and north of the conterminous United States of America. With total land area about 9,220,970 square kilometers, Canada is the second-largest country in the world (after Russia).

Based on July 2006 estimate, Canada has about 33,098,932 population, including British Isles origin 28%, French origin 23%, other European 15%, Amerindian 2%, other, mostly Asian, African, Arab 6%, and mixed background 26%. English and French are the two official languages. About 25% of the population is French-speaking, with the greatest concentration in the Province of Quebec. You will see many signs and services offered in both languages in Canada.

Prosperous, charming, and friendly

A land of vast distances, Canada became a self-governing dominion in 1867. Economically and technologically the nation has developed in parallel with the US, its neighbor to the south across an unfortified border. Today, Canada is a prosperous and beautiful nation with market-oriented economic system, high-tech industry, rich natural resources, skilled labor force, high living standards, and wonderful and charming natural scenery.

Based on 2005 data, Canadian dollars per US dollar exchange rate is 1.2118. Canada has excellent telephone service provided by modern technology, including satellite system with 300 earth stations, and coaxial submarine cables. In 2005, Canada has about 20.9 million Internet users.

Located in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia about 75 miles north of Vancouver City, Whistler is a Canadian charming four-season travel destination nestled between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Whistler will be the location of one of the Olympic Villages for the XXI Olympic Winter Games from the 12th to 26th February 2010.
