As the third smallest of the eight major Hawaiian islands, Lanai was once known as Pineapple Island. However, Lanai was thoughtfully transformed into a famous tourist destination in 1990s.

This small island now presents to visitors some of the best hotels among Hawaii Islands. The Manele Bay Hotel and the Lodge At Koele are the twin resorts with world-class facilities. The Manele Bay Hotel is located along the Hulopo'e Bay. The Lodge At Koele is located on Lanai northeast upcountry.

You can reach Lanai Island by airplane. Daily air service is available via Hawaiian Airlines and Island Air. There is also daily ferry service between Lanai Island and Lahaina Harbor of Maui Island provided by Expeditions.

With 141 square miles lush landscape and miles of coastline, Lanai provides visitors numerous opportunities to explore white sand beaches, hiking trails, and all super-nature of tropical island.

Two Championship Golf Courses

Lanai Island offers golfers two championship golf courses. Designed by famous golfer Jack Nicklaus and built on natural lava outcroppings overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Challenge at Manele Golf Course is one of the top-ranked championship courses by the sea.

Outdoor Activities

Besides the activities provided by the resorts, you can hike the famous Munro Trail or enjoy horseback riding in wooded upland to explore picturesque Lanai, its hidden valleys and wildlife, and unique landscape.

The historical place as Garden of the God is located at the end of Palihua Road. To explore this mystery you have to rent a four-wheels-drive car to get there. Lanai has several beaches favorable for Snorkeling and Scuba Diving to swim with colorful tropical fish in the clear and warm water of the Pacific Ocean.

Dining

Twin resorts of Lanai Island provide visitors some of the best restaurants in Hawaii. The restaurant in the Lodge At Koele, which offers visitors award-winning fresh flavors of the Pacific in world-class dining rooms, has been ranked top choice by travel magazines.

Lanai City

Lanai City, the only city on this Island, is located in upcountry. Most population of Lanai island centered in this city, a 1920s plantation town built by James Dole. Today, you can find some charming shops and galleries here and will be welcomed by its residents with Aloha spirit.
