Because of Maui geographical location, the climate varies with average temperatures from 72°F to 79°F, with lowest 48°F and highest 95°F. It is perfect for outdoor activities and adventures all year long around the clock.

Maui Island has 120 miles of shoreline with beautiful sandy beaches, 10 state parks, 15 county parks, one famous national park - Haleakala National Park, and about 16 golf courses. Maui's 728 square miles offers visitors all kinds of outdoor activities, including Golfing, Tennis, Hiking, Camping, and water sports such as Sailing, Diving, Surfing, Snorkeling, and Deep-Sea Fishing.

Lahaina of West Maui and South Maui have several companies offer sailing and whale watching services to tourists.



Scuba Diving /Snorkeling

Maui presents to the world its beauty as a unique tropical island but also the nature beneath the ocean surface combined with tropical fish, colorful coral, seashells and a fascinating underwater paradise. Thus scuba diving and snorkeling are two of the Maui's most popular outdoor activities. Molokini Islet is one of Maui's most breathtaking spots for snorkeling and scuba diving. Other favorite snorkeling spots include Kapalua Beach, Ulua Beach and Ahihi Bay. Some tourist services companies offer scuba diving tours that take experienced scuba divers to some of the best dive sites in Maui.

Surfing /Windsurfing /Kiteboarding Hookipa Beach, Maui Island

Maui is one of the world surfing destinations and Ho'okipa Beach Park and Honolua Bay are Maui's premier surfing destinations in the winter when waves reach more than 10 feet. For beginning surfers, Lahaina and some West Maui beaches provide calmer conditions for lessons and practice.

Windsurfing, Hookipa Beach, Maui

Maui is also one of the world windsurfing destinations and Ho'okipa Beach Park is known as the best windsurfing destination on the earth. The O'Neill International Charmpionship is held here in March and April every year. However, many experienced windsurfers prictise at Ho'okipa Beach everyday that creates a tourist attractions in Maui. For beginning windsurfers, Kanaha Beach in Kahului provides calmer conditions for lessons and practice.

Kiteboarding is Maui Island's newest water sport that using lightweight fabric to pull surfers over and above the ocean waves.
