Maui has 42 miles of sandy beaches along its 120 miles sunny coastline. With climate
varies with average temperatures from 72°F to 79°F, Maui is a perfect place for outdoor
sports and beach activities. All these Maui beaches are free and open to the public. Some Maui beaches
have picnic tables and facilities, others are perfect for water sports.
D.T. Flemming Beach
D.T. Flemming Beach is located at Kapalua of West Maui just about one mile north of Kapalua Resort.
This Maui popular family beach is perfect for swimming and picnic. D.T. Flemming Beach provides restroom
and showers.
Kaanapali Beach
Kaanapali Beach is one of the popular Maui beaches. This Maui beach is located on Honoapiilani Highway about
four miles north of Lahaina of West Maui. If you like water sports, this West Maui beach is an ideal place for
windsurfing, parasail, jet-ski, kayak, snorkeling and more.
Kapalua Beach
Kapalua Beach is off Honoapiilani Highway about 10 miles north of Lahaina. This Maui beach is
a good place for swimming and family picnic. Kapalua Beach has restrooms and showers.
Launiupoko Wayside Park
Launiupoko Wayside Park is located on Honoapilani Highway at mile marker 18.09, about three miles
south of Lahaina. This Maui beach park is a popular spot for family picnic and beginning surfers.
Napili Bay Beach
Napali Bay Beach is located on Honoapilani Highway, about nine miles north of Lahaina of West
Maui. Napili Bay Beach is a popular spot for swimming and snorkeling in the summer time. Napili
Bay attracts surfers in the winter because of bigger waves.
Kama'ole Beach Parks I, II, III
Along the South Maui coast parallel to the Piilani Highway at the southern end of of Kihei, there
are Kamaole Beach I, Kamaole Beach II and Kamaole Beach III. These Kamaole Beaches formed three popular beach
parks in Kihei, South Maui.

These Maui beach parks are excellent for swimming, snorkeling and kayaking, water-skiing, and
beach volleyball. All these Kamaole Beaches of South Maui have showers, restrooms, and lifeguards. Kamaole
Beach III is the biggest and the most popular among the Kamaole Beaches.
Keawakapu Beach
Located in the north of Wailea off South Kihei Road, Keawakapu Beach is one of the longest
beaches in South Maui. With crystal-clear and shallow water, this Maui sandy beach provides a superb
condition for snorkeling and swimming.
Maalaea Beach
Maalaea Beach is located in South Maui at the north of Kihei off Li'ilani Highway. This three-mile
beach is situated between two mountains which form Maui Island. Therefore it is a wind tunnel and
popular for surfing.
Makena Beach
Makena Beach is divided into Big Beach and Little Beach. They are located at the south of Wailea.
Both Makena beaches are good places for swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing. Makena Little Beach is
unofficially "clothing optional" beach on Maui Island.
Ulua Beach
Located in the south of Wailea, Ulua Beach is one of the best snorkeling beaches on Maui
Island. This Maui beach is also an ideal place for swimming, diving, and boardsurfing.

Hookipa Beach
Hookipa Beach is located on Hana Highway about three miles east of Paia town of Maui Island. This
Maui beach is one of the world famous surfing spots. Its waves can get as high as 14 feet. Some of
the world's best windsurfers came to Hookipa Beach for competitions.
Hookipa Beach has picnic tables. You can have picnic here, at the same time watch thrilling
Windsurfing. This Maui beach has restrooms, showers, and pay phones.
Kanaha Beach Park
Kanaha Beach Park is closed to Kahului Airport of Maui Island. It is wide grassy area and is
popular for picnic and windsurfing. Kanaha Beach has a lot of parking space and facilities,
including toilets, showers and grills.
Hana Beach Park
Hana Beach Park is located off Hana Highway on Uakea Road of Maui Island. It is a 700-foot long brown sand beach and is good place
for sunbathing and swimming. There is a lighthouse, Kauiki Lighthouse, on this park.
Hamoa Beach Park
Hamoa Beach Park is located off Piilani Highway about two and a half miles south of Hana. It received the late James
Michener's vote as the most beautiful beach in the Pacific paradise. Hamoa Beach is a nice place for swimming and snorkeling
in the summer and bodysurfing in the winter.
