Ballroom dance is one of evening activities on Maui Island. With
spectacular tropical sunset and ocean views surrounding the whole Maui Island, Hawaii
people light up Tiki lights and begin their nightlife and cultural activities. Maui
popular evening activities include ballroom dance party and ballroom dance classes for
Latin Dance and Standard Dance.
Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association - Central Maui Chapter
Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association (HBDA),
founded in 1959 and has over 3000 members on four Hawaiian major islands, is Hawaii's largest non-profit
ballroom dance organization. The Palladium of Oahu is an open 11,000 square foot ballroom dance floor which was built in 1990.
It is home to several State of Hawaii and National Ballroom Dance Competitions each year as well as to several
other ballroom dance clubs.
Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association (HBDA) Central Maui Chapter is a
well-organized association which promotes and teaches ballroom dance in Maui more than ten
years now. There are many excellent ballroom dancers continuously enjoy weekly dancing class
and party. Every Monday starting from 7:00 PM at Wailuku Community Center, some excellent dance
instructors lead beginners, intermediate and advanced ballroom dancers to engage in popular
Latin or Standard dance, including Swing, Cha Cha, Rumba, Waltz, Foxtrot and more.
Beginners or advanced dancers, residents or vacationers are all welcome to join
weekly ballroom dance activity organized by HBDA Central Maui Chapter.
Aloha Ballroom Dance Academy
The Aloha Ballroom Dance Academy
is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to educate the public about Latin & Standard
Ballroom Dancing through professionally instructed group classes and public performances.
Every Wednesday beginning at 6:30 PM with a student-run ballroom dance Review Session at
Kihei Community Center of South Maui followed by 2 Professionally-instructed group classes. Popular Latin and
Standard ballroom dances including Salsa/Mambo, Swing, Cha-Cha, Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, and Rumba are taught by
Dance Professional, Rita O'Connor, N.D.C.A., co-founder of the Aloha Ballroom Dance Academy. Visit their website

Beginners, intermediate and advanced dancers, Maui residents and visitors
are all welcome to join weekly dance activities organized by Aloha Ballroom Dance Academy.

Ballroom Dance Party in Maui
In addition, Almost monthly, the Aloha Ballroom Dance Academy hosts an on-site
themed dance event and potluck dinner; some events have live music! Annually, the Academy
hosts The Academy Star Ball (usually in the late spring/early summer) and The Holiday Ball at
the Maui Fairmont Kea Lani Resort Hotel.
